Aridane G. González is a non-permanent researcher in the IOCAG. He received his B.S in Marine Sciences from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 2006 and his master degree in Oceanography in 2009. In 2007, Aridane got a PhD fellowship from the national government and in 2011 he got the PhD. After one year as postdoctoral scientist in the ULPGC, he moved to France, where he got two postdoctoral positions. From 2012 to 2014, he worked in Toulouse (CNRS) in different projects about the biogeochemistry of metals in natural waters. In 2015, he got a LabexMer postdoctoral fellowship in Brest (UBO-LEMAR), where he worked on the Fe and Cu biogeochemical cycles in the ocean, mainly focused on the Arctic and Southern Ocean. Recently, he moved to the IOCAG to work on Fe and Cu physico-chemical processes in the QUIMA group.

His research interests are broadly centred on elucidating the biogeochemical cycles of metals and the development of new biomonitors to measure and control the metal contamination in environments. Both lines are directly linked because the description of physico-chemical properties of biosorbents notably improves our knowledge about the chemistry of heavy and trace metals in the environment.
