GEOGAR finds raw materials for the new technologies in the seafloor of the islands

Professor José Mangas and his research group, GEOGAR, have found evidence that there are raw materials that are essential for the new technologies in the seafloor of the south of the islands. According to José Mangas' interview for the newspaper "El Confidencial", Brussels is planning to provide funds to extract them and, ultimately, end China's supremacy over this kind of raw materials. Nevertheless, there are two major obstacles: the projects to extract them have reached an impasse and the ownership of the waters (Spain or Morocco) is submitted for debate.
