Ángela explained during his online presentation his research entitled: Long Term Changes in the waters surrounding the canary island.
Ángela Mosguera Giménez ( Ph.D. student): Long Term Changes in the waters surrounding the canary island.
The Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) transports 18 Sv of water that carries more than 1.5 PW of heat from the equator to high latitudes, playing a determining role in the regulation of the climate in Europe. An important component of the AMOC is the Subtropical Gyre, the largest oceanic structure of the North Atlantic.
PhD presentation Juan Alberto González Santana 23 th June. 2023
Juan Alberto explained during his online presentation his research entitled: Analysis of the global shipping traffic for the feasibility of a structural recovery program of Argo floats. Main goals and preliminary studies
Juan Alberto González Santana ( Ph.D. student): Analysis of the global shipping traffic for the feasibility of a structural recovery program of Argo floats.
The Argo observation network is made up of approximately 4,000 drifting floats, which provide valuable information about the ocean and its role in the climate system. Each one of these floats work in continuous cycles, until their batteries run out. Despite its consolidated technology, the Argo community continually assesses the status of the sensors mounted on each of the floats.
