Presentation given by Dr. Eleanor Frajka-Williams in Taliarte 6th March 2020

As programmed, on 6th March in Taliarte, Dr. Eleanor Frajka-Williams was able to deliver a very interesting presentation entitled "Measuring the large-scale ocean circulation: Variability, connectivity and new approaches", during which she highlighted some of the research work carried out in her latest campaigns, what she and her team thought might be the results of the activities undertaken and what information was in fact revealed at the end of the study. Once more, here is her summary.

Online presentation by Camila Artana 3rd July 2020

As scheduled, we were pleased to welcome Camila Artana on 3rd July for her talk on the subject of "Revisiting the Malvinas current". The presentation was very detailed and a lively question and answer session followed on some of the issues raised during the international Teams meeting. We now include a few of the slides that Camila used to illustrate different aspects of her study.

Online presentation of thesis given by PhD student María Couret

Thesis presentations by PhD students usually held in Taliarte are once more up and running, this time online. María Couret, whose research is entitled "Seasonal variations in the abundance, biomass and diversity of the zooplankton and micronecton communities" was the first to present her work for this subject via the Microsoft Teams platform and completed it with a Powerpoint presentation to illustrate her arguments and data collection. The presentation, which came across very well despite some acoustic interference, was given in English.

Presentation by guest speaker in Taliarte 6th March 2020

This coming Friday, 6th March at 13:00 in Taliarte, guest speaker from the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton (UK), Dra. Strong turnout for presentation given by Dr. Melchor González Dávila in Taliarte

A large group of mainly PhD students, together with a number of university lecturers were present at the talk given by Dr. Melchor González Dávila last Friday in Taliarte. His presentation was entitled 25 YEARS STUDYING THE CARBON DIOXIDE SYSTEM IN THE NORTHEAST ATLANTIC OCEAN and he was happy to give further clarification of some of its aspects during the questions that followed. Once again we include a summary of the presentation subject matter.

Presentation Dr. Melchor González Dávila Taliarte 14th February 2020

Tomorrow, 14th February at 13:00 in Taliarte, University profesor and head of IOCAG's QUIMA research unit, Dr Melchor González Dávila, will be giving a talk in English entitled: 25 YEARS STUDYING THE CARBON DIOXIDE SYSTEM IN THE NORTHEAST ATLANTIC OCEAN. At the end, light refreshments will be served and there will be an opportunity to comment on aspects covered in the talk as well as other topics of interest.

First PhD student's thesis presentation in Taliarte 2020

This Friday, 24th January 2020 at 13:00, Abdallahi Limam will be the first PhD student to deliver his thesis presentation this year in Taliarte. His work is entitled: "Resources in the mesopelagic zone off the west-African coast: Implications for carbon flux" and more details can be read on his DOYCAG page here.
