New PhD student presentation - 17th February
Tomorrow we'll continue with the PhD students expositions.
This time will be the turn of Leví García and his work called "Analysis of the role of the vegetation cover in the beach-dune systems of the Canary Islands as a basis for improving their management". A summary of his work can be read here
PhD research presentation: "Kinetic oxidation of Fe(II) in the Irminger Sea"
After a few weeks break, last Friday we had a PhD student presentation again. Carolina Santana talked us about the preliminary results of kinetic oxidation of Fe(II) measured on board during the cruise AI 51 in the Irminger sea. A summary of her work here.
New PhD student presentation - December 16th
After a short break, next Friday we'll have a new PhD research presentation. This time will be Carolina Santana's turn, who will talk about her work called "Kinetic oxidation of Fe(II) in the Irminger Sea". A summary of her work
PhD research presentation: "Historical reconstruction of environmental conditions and land uses of coastal sedimentary systems of the Canary Islands (Spain)"
Last Friday we had a new PhD student presentation, this time related to the field of geography. Aarón Santana talked us about two coastal sedimentary systems of Canary Islands, Guanarteme dune field (Gran Canaria) and La Graciosa islands: their historical environmental conditions, land uses and the causes that led to their disappearance and degradation. A summary of his work .

PhD research presentation: "Respiration quotient variability in Marine Bacteria"
As we have been doing up to now, last friday we had a new PhD student presentation. This time, Vanesa Romero talked us about Marine bacteria respiration quotient and how can it range higher than than reported before with her presentation entitled "Respiration quotient variability in Marine Bacteria". A summary of her work.

PhD research presentation: "Measuring the plankton CO2 production throughout the water column by the isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) activity"
Last Friday we had Mayte Tamés's presentation entitled "Measuring the plankton CO2 production throughout the water column by the isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) activity".
She talked about the use of a new enzyme proxy for marine CO2-production method based on the activity of different isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) isoenzymes, involved in the Krebs cycle.

PhD research presentation: "Reconstruction of the natural and cultural lost heritage of the eastern coast of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria"
Last Friday we had another student research presentation. This time was the turn of Eva Perez research "Reconstruction of the natural and cultural lost heritage of the eastern coast of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria" about the reconstruction of the natural and cultural lost heritage’s characteristics of the coast of the Canary Islands since the late XIX century, considering the natural, historical and cultural heritage.
